Information Technology Director

The Information Technology (IT) Director oversees the Institute’s technology infrastructure, including hardware, software, and networking systems.

Responsibilities and Impact:

Oversee all ICT and related functions of the Institute including website, digital tools and online platforms.
Oversee the implementation of new systems and technologies, ensuring statistical projects are completed on time and within budget.
Work with senior management to identify business and technology needs, optimizing the use of information technology across the organization.
Recommend new technology investments or integration based on operational needs.
Ensure that a robust security mechanism is employed to protect sensitive data.
Work closely with vendors to ensure that the database design, implementation and management are in accordance with government policies and business requirements.
Implement a set of procedures to handle the database lifecycles (i.e. design, testing, implement, maintain and archive database), and develop protocols to maximize data availability.
Organize and facilitate meetings, and training workshops for the Institute.
Serve as one of the Institute’s representatives at meetings, conferences and workshops.

Master’s degree in computer science, mathematics, or related field from a recognised tertiary institution.
Experience working in a government environment is ideal.
Proficiency in a statistical software (e.g. Stata, R, SPSS) is preferred.
8+ years of experience working in IT operations, supervising technology teams, and overseeing large information technology projects.
